By registering for a ForumLingua course, the General Terms and Conditions valid at the time of registration are accepted.

Important legal note
This translation is provided for orientation. The German version is authoritative in case of doubt or contradiction.
ForumLingua is based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. German law applies to the legal relationship, unless mandatory consumer protection rules provide otherwise. For data protection, the GDPR and applicable German data protection law apply.

Lesson units
- • One lesson unit is 45 minutes.
- • One appointment normally consists of at least 2 lesson units, unless otherwise agreed with the office.
- • A teaching month means 4 weeks in which the course takes place.

Reduction of lesson units with fewer participants
Mini-group courses normally have 3 to 5 participants. If the minimum number of 3 is not reached, the number of lesson units may be reduced to 14 units with 2 participants or 8 units with 1 participant.
If the minimum number of 6 participants is not reached in standard group courses, the course is automatically run as a mini-group and costs EUR 280 instead of EUR 240.
This reduction does not apply to Bildungsurlaub bookings. If participation is very low, the course may also be offered as 2-to-1 or private lessons.

Registration
- • Registration is binding for the selected course or courses.
- • Rebooking is possible by arrangement.
- • Course fees are not refunded unless another person takes the place.
- • Registration must be made in writing before the first lesson, either online or on paper.
- • After registration, an invoice and booking confirmation are issued.

Payment and instalments
- • The course fee is due before the course starts.
- • Proof of payment must be presented at the first lesson.
- • Payment is possible by bank transfer or in cash.
- • Language courses are exempt from VAT.
- • For courses lasting 2 to 3 months, 2 or 3 instalments may be agreed. The first instalment is due no later than the first teaching day, the last before the course ends.

Trial lesson and missed group lessons
A free trial lesson in an ongoing course may be arranged. If the person joins afterwards, the trial lesson counts as the first booked lesson and written registration is required.
Classes cancelled by the school, for example due to teacher illness or public holidays, are made up or the course is extended. Group lessons missed by participants are not replaced and do not reduce the fee.

Cancellation of private and 2-to-1 lessons
Cancellations or changes must be sent by email more than 24 hours before the appointment. Otherwise the appointment is deemed missed and must be paid for. For Monday appointments, the deadline ends on the preceding Friday at 17:00.
Private or 2-to-1 lesson units not taken within 6 months expire and are not refunded. Force majeure such as strikes, traffic or weather does not create a claim for replacement.

Withdrawal and cancellation fees
Withdrawal or cancellation of booked courses should be made in writing without delay. The customer may prove that no damage or a significantly lower damage was incurred by the school.

Bildungsurlaub
- • Participation in the language course is mandatory.
- • Absences must be reported to the school management and to the employer.
- • ForumLingua confirms only properly attended Bildungsurlaub.
- • If the employer rejects the application, ForumLingua must be informed in writing without delay.

Liability, privacy and severability
ForumLingua is not liable for lost items. Contractual liability is limited to intent and gross negligence, unless mandatory statutory liability applies.
Personal data is processed for course administration and secure operation of the online forms. Details are provided in the privacy policy.
If individual provisions are invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
